Dental fillings are necessary to repair decayed or broken tooth structure in order to prevent sensitivity, food impaction, damage to tongue and oral tissues from sharp edges of the teeth, and toothaches. We use modern dental filling materials such as tooth coloured composite resin, glass-ionomer cements, and porcelain. Amalgam fillings are no longer used routinely but is still available if necessary. We offer amalgam replacement options as well and this should be discussed with our dentists first prior to commencing.
